Architectural Design Process

  1. Step 1
Collect and Gather house plans and exteriors that appeals to your style. If you are struggling to find ideas on the style that you like most, check my Houzz.com page to see if anything sparks your interest. There are many styles and ideas to choose from, so take your time and then proceed to step 2. You can always look at pinterest.com for ideas as well.
  2. Step 2
Once you have an idea of the style you like, email for a quote. Some items to have ready for your quote are: proposed house location, Timeframe, House Style, Square Footage Size, How many bedrooms, how many bathrooms, how many car garage, etc. After the quote, we can proceed to step 3.
  3. Step 3
The Preliminary Design. We'll begin with a meeting (either face to face or we can meet over the phone/facetime. Once we have an idea on your particular style and room locations, we'll start the design process. We'll design a floor plan tailored to your needs and wants. After the floor plan is agreed upon, we'll go to step 4.
  4. Step 4
After the Floor plan is designed, we'll move on to the Exterior Elevations. We'll give you 2-3 options of exterior styles and then address any changes upon our 2nd meeting. During this time, you should start to gather a materials list, have a few builders in mind, and start to think about interior design (if that's desired). During this 4th step, we'll finalize the design and then, we'll move to step 5.
  5. Step 5
Now we begin the construction drawings. These are crucial drawings tailored to your custom house. From these drawings, you can obtain budgeting prices from builders, begin the electrical layout, truss framing, structural engineering, and home specialist (flooring, cabinetry, millwork, colours, furniture, interior design, etc.). These plans will also take you through the permitting process. Now on to step 6, the final process.
  6. Step 6
Before actually finalizing the drawings to be submitted to permitting, we'll make any necessary adjustments and changes to you Construction plans. These are the drawings you can submit to the city or regional district for permitting. We are committed to helping you receive that coveted permit so that the construction of your new home can begin.
